About the job – Develop and design products, equipment, and tools to be able to produce products that meets high quality requirements and performance standards; Analyze equipment specifications and process requirements to conceive a practical design; Seek the continuous improvement of the research and development area.
Main Responsibilities – Drive independently the design development of round tools; Review product development requirements for compatibility with methods to determine cost and schedules; Integrate equipment and material capabilities to meet module target specifications and technology target specifications; Responsible for handling over method/process and equipment to production; Utilize Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) systems to model new designs and produce detailed engineering drawings, as well as 3D models; Specify precise new product functional requirements, designs, tests and integrate components to produce final designs; Evaluate the design’s overall safety, effectiveness, cost, and reliability; Design, develop, execute, and evaluate fitness-for-use testing, product specifications and bills of materials; Collaborate with internal manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, educational and research institutes, designers and product managers; Ensure project compliance with established industry safety, and accordance with design standards and guidelines; Join meetings locally and abroad, as well as through virtual resources, to interact with other areas related to the role; Join projects to continually improve the performance of the research and development area; Lead and guide colleagues regarding the use of methods and equipment from the research and development department.
YOUR PROFILE – Knowledge about Management System tools (quality, environment, and safety); Strong communication in English; Advanced knowledge of reading and understanding technical drawings; Advanced knowledge of CAD software; Knowledge about programming and operation of CNC machines; Knowledge of Siemens NX, CAE and CAM; Knowledge about measurement instruments and equipment (caliper, micrometer, digital microscope, optical 3D measurement system, CNC measuring machine and other); Knowledge about materials properties; Knowledge about cutting process theory; Previous experience in research and development with round tools, product development and/or processes and methods; Knowledge in the metal-mechanic segments or about cutting tools.
EDUCATIONAL GRADE – Technical course related to machining; University degree (technologist or bachelor) / Engineering degree (Mechanics / Mechatronics / Materials / Metallurgy / Processes and Methods); Industrial Management / Production Management or correlated fields. Course related to Project Management or correlated fields.
