MCS presents Proteo to abroad market in IMTS

(09/07/2008) – A mature company with mature products. This is how MCS Engenharia, the unique national CNC producer, is going to present itself to the international market. In the week to come, during IMTS 2008, in Chicago, the company is going to be launched in international exhibitions.

In the luggage, the Proteo CNC and Proteo Mini, products that consolidate the acquired experience by the company in it`s 26 years of activity in CNC market. “We never adventured in international exhibitions because we thought our products were adequate only to Brazilian market. With Proteo, released in 2007, it has changed. It`s a different product, a better solution, simpler and with enough technical quality to our piecework”, affirms Edson Casagrande, MCS Technical Director.

To the director, Proteo has got characteristics very valuable specially in the north-american market, like having the open architecture capable to communicate with the most diverse communication protocols in the market and to interconnect with several kinds of equipments. “More over, it is customizable in application and in devices matters, counting with communication entries and exits with drivers in several protocols”, explains.

Thus, the machines don`t need to adapt to CNC – as it occurs in most CNC in the global market. Proteo and Proteo Mini are able to adapt themselves to the machines. Casagrande explains that, in general, CNCs have units to lathes, machining centers, HSM, milling machines, etc… and each one have a different price. “Proteo attends all these alternatives including cutting machines, oxyacetylene cutters, package machines, etc., with only one setting, including the interface and the operation handling are completely different”, explains. “When the command is turned on it reads the setting files and understands what it shall do in that machine”.

CONTACTS – Despite these differentials, Casagrande says they are not going to Chicago with the perspective to make big contracts with machine producers. He evaluates that the abroad market goal will be similar to the area achieved in Brazilian market, that is the small applications or single applications.

Consider that most contacts pre-scheduled are with companies in the area of motors and drives. “We will meet with companies in the motors segment, show our products to them, the applications we have already developed in Brazil and feel what our product can represent to these producers”, explains.

“We are going to show the equipment is versatile, that it can connect to several kinds of motors, supervisors, IHMs, CAD/CAM… That it is an equipment prepared to this, of low cost and that we have big experience in application”, says. In the booth, MCS will have a didactic machine developed by CNC Service, “in which we are going to focus the applications we have already developed in Brazil, to show to the drivers` area people what we could do with very simple machine, applicable to assembling and setting”.

MINI – Mini Proteo is a “motion control”. “Motion control in quotes because it is a very powerful equipment, counting with a IHM and PLC integrated that can command up to 8 spindles”, highlights Casagrande. With Mini – that is extremely compact, practically the size of a CD -, MCS has developed several applications to package machines, press feeders and press, to what a usual CNC would be too expensive. “Although being equipments that does not need a sophisticated CNC, they need CNC`s functions”, observes.

Proteo is a CNC up to 8 spindles, very complete solution that can be applied in lathes, milling cutters and grindings. “It is our product enhanced along 26 years. Fast, beautiful, powerful and very versatile it can attend a lot of requirements, including glass, plate, wood cutting, etc.”, informs. “We are hopeful that this product is good not only to Brazilian market but to other countries also”.
