(07/06/2008) – One of the most traditional special tools producer of the country, established in 1942, Hanna is investing in its production capacity ampliation to PCD special tools. Installed in an area of 14.000 m2, in Limeira (SP), the company will conclude a new shed that will enlarge the industrial area in 20%. “The new area might be ready in September and we are already projecting a new ampliation of more than 2.000m2 to 2009″, informs the Commercial Director, Eduardo Hanna.
According to the Director, the market heating and the Brazilian industrial base stimulated the PCD utilization in Brazil. “One of the limitations to PCD utilization was that, until recent times, customers didn´t have machines with enough speed nor toughness so PCD advantages could be clear”, explains. Surely, let´s not forget about the aluminum utilization increase in the automotive sector. “Besides this, many customers nowadays specifies the PCD to certain applications”.
With the new unit, Hanna will enlarge significatively its productive capacity. “We are triplicating our production capacity of PCD rotate tools”, says. To all this, there were bought three six-axis machines, two of five-axis and two automatized measurement machines, that measures the tools with no contact.
However, to Eduardo Hanna the main characteristic of the company is the know-how in developing projects. From 210 employees that the company has, 35 are in the special tools project sector – that operates in two shifts.
HISTORY – Hanna was born as a tool room in the paulistan district of Tatuapé, producing devices and tools. Later, it started to develop it´s own products as boiler´s pipe stretchers and universal plates. By the way, the energy area is still one of the main segments Hanna attends, that disposes all the tooling set to produce boilers and heat exchangers. “We´ve always been focusing special tools segment”, says the director, remembering that in the 50´s with the car assembly plants arrival, the company enlarged it´s actuation to the automotive sector also, developing tools to precise finishing. In 1994 entered the PCD segment.
“The PCD is still relatively new in Brazil. Because of this, we believe it has bigger growth potential even because many applications are still being done”, explains. Director informs that in an average, Hanna grows 15% a year. “In 2007 we had a growth above the average, it was 35%. To 2009, we have as a target a growth of 25% and we are going to reach it, practically guaranteed by our orders´ programming”.
